The Fox And The Stork

The Fox And The Stork , Moral Story

A Fox one day thought of a plan to entertain himself by playing a trick with a Stork. The fox found the odd appearance of the stork vey funny. The stork had long bill with wiry thin legs.

The fox invited the Stork to dinner , smiling to himself for the trick he was playing. The Stork gladly accepted the invitation and arrived in time at the fox’s den, working up a very good appetite. The Fox served soup in the dinner, but it was set out in a very shallow dish. The only thing ,the poor Stork could do was to wet the very tip of his bill; not a drop of the soup could reach into her mouth . But the Fox drank it up easily, and, to increase the disappointment of the Stork, made a great show of enjoyment.

The hungry Stork understood the trick, but stayed calm. A few days later he invited the Fox to dine with him. The Fox arrived promptly at the time. The Stork served a mouth watering fish dinner that had a very appetizing smell, but in a tall jar with a long narrow neck. The Stork relished the food with his long bill, but all the Fox could do was to lick the outside of the jar, and smell the fish. The fox lost his temper, to which the Stork said calmly ,”this is my return hospitality, tit for tat”.
