यह पुत्र कोई और नहीं, बल्कि गरुड़ थे!

गरुड़ की शक्ति और नागों की चालाकी

गरुड़ के जन्म लेते ही उनके तेजस्वी रूप को देखकर सभी देवता और ऋषि अचंभित रह गए। वे अद्भुत तेज और असाधारण शक्ति के धनी थे।

परंतु कद्रू ने चालाकी से विनता को एक शर्त में हराकर उसे दासी बना लिया। जब गरुड़ को इस अन्याय का पता चला, तो उन्होंने अपनी माता को मुक्त करने का प्रण लिया।

नागों ने एक शर्त रखी –

“अगर तुम हमारे लिए स्वर्ग से अमृत ला सकते हो, तो हम तुम्हारी माँ को दासता से मुक्त कर देंगे।”

स्वर्ग से अमृत प्राप्त करने की कठिन परीक्षा

गरुड़ जी ने अपनी अपार शक्ति का उपयोग किया और स्वर्ग की ओर प्रस्थान किया। लेकिन स्वर्ग के द्वारों पर इंद्रदेव के सेनापति और अन्य देवगण पहरा दे रहे थे।

• उन्होंने बिना किसी अस्त्र-शस्त्र के ही स्वर्ग की ओर बढ़ना जारी रखा।
• जब वे इंद्रलोक पहुँचे, तो अमृत के रक्षक स्वयं इंद्र ने उनका मार्ग रोकने का प्रयास किया।

परंतु गरुड़ जी ने अपनी बुद्धि और ताकत से सभी बाधाओं को पार किया और स्वर्ग से अमृत कलश लेकर नागों के पास पहुँचे।

गरुड़ ने अमृत कलश नागों को सौंप दिया, परंतु भगवान विष्णु ने उनकी भक्ति और परिश्रम से प्रसन्न होकर उन्हें वरदान दिया।
