राजा की मूर्ख रानी और बुद्धिमान दासी – नीति और न्याय की कहानी
बहुत समय पहले की बात है। एक राज्य में राजा वीरेंद्र सिंह और रानी माधवी राज्य करते थे। राजा वीरेंद्र सिंह बुद्धिमान, न्यायप्रिय और लोकप्रिय शासक थे। लेकिन रानी माधवी बहुत अहंकारी और मूर्ख स्वभाव की थी। वह केवल दिखावे में विश्वास करती थी और हर समय चापलूसों से घिरी रहती थी।
इसी महल में रहती थी एक दासी – नाम था सारिका। वह साधारण परिवार से थी, परंतु बहुत बुद्धिमान, समझदार और ईमानदार थी।
रानी का घमंड और सारिका की सच्चाई
रानी माधवी को लगता था कि वह संसार की सबसे सुंदर, समझदार और योग्य स्त्री है। उसे यह पसंद नहीं था कि कोई भी उससे अधिक प्रशंसा पाए। जब राजा कभी दासी सारिका की समझदारी की तारीफ करते, तो रानी को क्रोध आ जाता।
एक दिन रानी ने फैसला लिया कि वह सारिका को महल से निकाल देगी। लेकिन वह चाहती थी कि ऐसा कुछ हो जिससे राजा को भी लगे कि सारिका गलत है।
बुद्धिमान दासी की योजना
सारिका को रानी की चाल समझ में आ गई। लेकिन उसने प्रतिकार करने की बजाय बुद्धि से खेल खेला। रानी ने एक दिन दरबार में राजा से कहा:
“महाराज! मैं एक प्रश्न पूछना चाहती हूँ – बताइए, कौन अधिक योग्य होती है: जन्म से रानी या गुणों से महान बनने वाली स्त्री?”
राजा ने यह प्रश्न सबके सामने रखा। सभी दरबारियों ने मौन धारण कर लिया।
सारिका ने आगे बढ़कर कहा:
“एक फूल की खूबसूरती तब तक है जब तक वह खिलता है, लेकिन उसकी खुशबू तब तक है जब तक उसकी आत्मा में मिठास हो। जन्म से मिला रुतबा एक समय के बाद खो सकता है, लेकिन गुण जीवनभर साथ रहते हैं।”
राजा का न्याय
राजा ने सारिका की बातों को ध्यानपूर्वक सुना और फिर निर्णय दिया:
“सच्ची रानी वही है, जिसमें गुण, विवेक और सेवा भाव हो – न कि केवल शाही पहनावा और चापलूसी।”
रानी को अपनी भूल का एहसास हुआ। उसने सारिका से क्षमा माँगी और उसे अपनी सलाहकार बना दिया।

Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, lived King Virendra Singh and Queen Madhavi. The king was wise, brave, and beloved by his people. But the queen was proud, foolish, and obsessed with appearance and flattery.
In the royal palace lived a maid named Sarika. Though she belonged to a poor family, she was known for her wisdom, honesty, and clever thinking.
The Queen’s Pride vs. the Maid’s Intellect
Queen Madhavi thought she was the most beautiful and intelligent woman in the kingdom. She couldn’t tolerate anyone else being praised—especially not a mere maid.
Whenever the king admired Sarika’s wisdom, the queen would burn with jealousy. She decided to remove Sarika from the palace.
The Clever Plan of the Wise Maid
Sarika sensed the queen’s intentions but didn’t panic. Instead, she prepared a plan based on wit.
One day, the queen asked in the royal court:
“O King, tell me—who is more deserving of respect: someone born royal or someone who earns respect through wisdom?”
The king posed this question to the entire court. Everyone stayed silent, unsure of the right answer.
Sarika stepped forward and said:
“A flower may bloom beautifully, but its fragrance lives longer than its petals. Royalty by birth may fade, but virtue and wisdom remain eternal.”
⚖️ The King’s Verdict
The king was deeply impressed. He declared:
“True royalty lies in wisdom and virtue—not in pride or riches.”
The queen was ashamed. She realized her mistake and humbly apologized to Sarika. The king then made Sarika his personal advisor.
