राजा रानी और सोने की मुर्गी – लालच की प्रेरक हिंदी कहानी
बहुत समय पहले की बात है, एक सुंदर और समृद्ध राज्य में राजा वीरसेन और रानी लावण्या का शासन था। वे अपने महल में सुख-शांति से रहते थे लेकिन एक चीज़ की कमी हमेशा उन्हें महसूस होती थी – असीम धन। राजा और रानी की सबसे बड़ी इच्छा थी कि उनका राज्य दुनिया का सबसे अमीर राज्य बन जाए।
एक दिन, जंगल में शिकार के दौरान राजा को एक घायल अद्भुत मुर्गी दिखी। वह आम मुर्गी नहीं थी – हर दिन एक सोने का अंडा देती थी। राजा उसे महल ले आए और रानी को दिखाई। रानी खुशी से चिल्लाई, “अब हम अमर हो गए!”
सोने की मुर्गी और स्वर्ण अंडों का जादू
हर सुबह वह मुर्गी एक चमकता हुआ सोने का अंडा देती। राजा और रानी दोनों अंडों को गिनते, तिजोरी में जमा करते और भविष्य के सपनों में खो जाते। कुछ ही महीनों में उनके पास ढेर सारा सोना हो गया, लेकिन इसके साथ ही लालच भी बढ़ता गया।

राजा को यह विचार उचित लगा। उन्होंने अगले ही दिन मुर्गी को मारने का आदेश दे दिया।
लालच का अंजाम और पछतावे की आग
राजा और रानी ने मुर्गी को काटा लेकिन उनके हाथ कुछ नहीं आया – न तो सोने के अंडे मिले, न ही मुर्गी बची।
अब न तो उनके पास सोने की मुर्गी थी और न ही रोज़ाना आने वाला सोना। धीरे-धीरे तिजोरी खाली हो गई, दरबारी साथ छोड़ने लगे, और प्रजा हँसने लगी कि कैसे लालच ने उनके सम्राट को अंधा बना दिया।
शिक्षा और पश्चाताप
राजा और रानी को अपनी गलती का एहसास हुआ। उन्होंने प्रजा के सामने सार्वजनिक रूप से माफ़ी मांगी और यह स्वीकार किया कि लालच की कोई सीमा नहीं होती, और वह व्यक्ति को उसकी सबसे बड़ी शक्ति से भी वंचित कर सकता है।
उन्होंने बच्चों को सिखाना शुरू किया कि —
“जो हमारे पास है, उसका सम्मान करना चाहिए। अधिक पाने की चाहत कभी-कभी हमें सब कुछ खोने पर मजबूर कर देती है।”
