बिल्ली का निर्णय – पंचतंत्र की कहानी (हिंदी में)
बहुत समय पहले, एक बड़े बरगद के पेड़ पर दो बंदर रहते थे। वे आपस में अच्छे दोस्त थे और हमेशा साथ-साथ फल खाते थे।
एक दिन उन्हें पेड़ के नीचे एक बड़ी, पकी और मीठी रोटी मिल गई। दोनों बंदरों की नज़र रोटी पर पड़ी और वे उसे उठाकर खाने लगे। लेकिन जल्द ही विवाद हो गया —
पहला बंदर बोला, “यह रोटी मेरी है, मैंने पहले देखी।”
दूसरा बोला, “नहीं, मैंने पहले उठाई थी।”
दोनों का झगड़ा बढ़ता ही गया। तभी वहाँ से एक चालाक बिल्ली गुज़री। उसने सोचा, “ये दोनों झगड़ रहे हैं, मैं इसका फायदा उठा सकती हूँ।”

बिल्ली ने कहा,
“भाइयों, आप क्यों लड़ रहे हो? आओ, मैं इस रोटी को बराबर-बराबर बाँट देती हूँ ताकि झगड़ा खत्म हो जाए।”
दोनों बंदरों ने सोचा कि यह अच्छा विचार है और रोटी बिल्ली को दे दी।
बिल्ली ने रोटी को दो टुकड़ों में तोड़ा, लेकिन जानबूझकर एक टुकड़ा बड़ा और दूसरा छोटा कर दिया।
“अरे! यह बराबर नहीं हुआ,” उसने कहा और बड़े टुकड़े से थोड़ा-सा खा लिया। अब दूसरा टुकड़ा बड़ा हो गया, तो उसने उसमें से भी खा लिया।
ऐसे-ऐसे करके बिल्ली ने दोनों टुकड़ों से थोड़ा-थोड़ा खाकर पूरी रोटी खुद खा ली और वहाँ से भाग गई।
दोनों बंदरों को अब पछतावा हुआ कि उन्होंने अपना झगड़ा किसी स्वार्थी और चालाक व्यक्ति से सुलझवाने की गलती की।

The Cat’s Judgment – A Panchatantra Story
Long ago, under a big banyan tree, lived two monkeys who were good friends. They used to share everything they found.
One day, they found a large, round, and delicious bread lying under the tree. Both wanted it.
The first monkey said, “I saw it first, so it’s mine.”
The second replied, “No, I picked it up first, so it’s mine.”
They kept arguing until a clever cat came along. The cat thought, “These two are fighting. I can take advantage of this.”

The cat said,
“My friends, why are you fighting? Let me divide the bread equally for you.”
The monkeys agreed and gave her the bread. The cat tore it into two pieces, but she made one piece bigger on purpose.

Repeating this again and again, the cat ate the entire bread and ran away.
